Over 400 athletes from Grade 3 to Grade 7 participated in the annual School District No. 46 track and field meet held at the Elphinstone track. The two-day meet was made possible by the tremendous support of the two high schools, which had their senior students volunteer and run the events. Kudos to PE teacher Owen Schutz at Elphi for coordinating the students, and a special shout out to Lucy Schick, Ben Luporini, Sam Knight and Grace Query for their extra efforts on the day.
The High Jump event was held at Chatelech, the evening before the track meet, and new records were set or tied in nine of the 10 events. Elementary hugs to high school helpers Elliot Wadge, Jaimie Mundy, Rob Anthony, Harley Waterston, Lexi Mayer, Camilla Hindmarch and Zoe Younghusband for assisting with the running of the event. And a huge cheer for Mrs. Mani and her concession on a hot and gruelling afternoon at Elphinstone.
