Mikayla Towert, Lydia Harvey-Lloyd and Ingrid Hansen helped their team win silver in the BC Provincial A Cup.

Sunshine Coasters Ingrid Hansen, Lydia Harvey-Lloyd and Mikayla Towert helped their team earn the silver medal in the BC Provincial A Cup in Richmond.

The gold medal game at the Richmond Oval came after four gruelling days of high level competition, and was a testament to the depth and determination of this group of athletes, the West Vancouver GU 18 Rangers Metro team, who lost by just a single goal in overtime play to Vancouver Island Fury.

Ingrid, Lydia and Mikayla first played soccer together many years ago on the Sunshine Coast girls’ rep team, and have been the fortunate recipients of many years of community support, local coaching, and encouragement to play their game at the highest level they could. This year they travelled off the Coast three times a week for practice and games on the Lower Mainland, all made possible by the support of the Sunshine Coast Youth Soccer Association, BC Ferries travel support for youth players, the Sunshine Coast Regional District, and an amazing soccer community. Congratulations to Ingrid, Lydia and Mikayla for your hard work, dedication and achievements!
