The Sunshine Coast Chinook Swim Club attended their first fully sanctioned meet of the season on Dec. 10-11 at the Maple Ridge Aquatic Centre.
Eight swimmers from the Chinook Swim Club joined 300 swimmers from all over the Lower Mainland at the meet, which was hosted by the Haney Seahorse Swim Club.
Head coach Marilyn Haines said that while the club has been mostly recreational in the past, they are now stepping things up to a competitive level and more than doubled their numbers, going from about 30 to 65 swimmers.
Nima Behji, Noah Grant-Byrnes, Heather Benko, Lorren Benko, Maya Somogyi, Pippa Boothroyd, Lucy Wolchock-Brown and Zoe Younghusband attended the meet and all received 100 per cent best times. Way to go Chinooks!
