Beres Clements rides Thumbelina in the intermediate division of the 2 foot 3 inch hunter class at the first spring hunter jumper show of the season.

A total of 32 horse and rider combinations competed on May 7 at the Sunshine Coast Equestrian Club arena.

Hunter horses are judged on style, how the horse moves and obedience. Jumpers are timed and faults are received for any rails knocked down. Fastest time and fewest faults wins the class for their division. If a rider goes clear – no rails down – they proceed to the jump-off where the fastest time wins the class.

The English Hack and Western Performance Games are this weekend – May 14 and 15 – starting at 9 a.m. both days at the Equestrian Club’s arena.
