The Chinook Swim Club attended the May invitational swim meet in Whistler put on by the Whistler Sea Wolves on May 23 and 24, and put on a stellar performance.
Nineteen swimmers ages eight through 16 swam their hearts out against three other clubs with many earning personal bests and some first-place finishes and many second and third place finishes. It was very exciting for our swimmers to compete against such strong swimmers some of whom are ranked AAA, and in such critically judged and timed conditions.
It is the first swim meet against other swim clubs that the Chinook Swim Club has undertaken in several years. Many thanks to the club’s volunteer coaches for all their time and attention to detail to bring out the best in our swimmers, and to the club’s sponsors and parent volunteers for enabling the rebirth of a swimming powerhouse.
