The Sunshine Coast Midget A Blues are heading to the final four in Squamish to battle it out for top spot in the Lower Mainland.
The Blues had impressive wins last weekend, beating the Surrey Thunder on Saturday, Feb. 20 in their barn and outshooting them 49-5. The Blues defence was key in limiting the Thunder’s scoring chances, while the offensive efforts relentlessly pelted Surrey’s goaltender.
Cam McAllister led the way with two impressive goals. Killackey, Fodchuk and a heater from the point by Robinson continued to light the lamp.
With the series tied and bringing the tiebreaker home to their arena on Sunday, the Sunshine Coast Blues resumed their domination of the Surrey team. Net minder Brandon Ree-Lagace made outstanding saves throughout the game as the Blues fought through multiple penalty killing situations, ending in a win for the Blues.
The Sunshine Coast Blues are certainly on a momentum-building upswing that could carry them through their final playoff games and into the B.C. Championships in March. #GOBLUES
