The Blues have occupied the upper reaches of Tier 3 hockey all year long, but Sunday, Feb. 14 they met a formidable opponent in the Surrey Thunder.
Surrey was on the scoreboard early and continued to drive the net all game long. The Blues fought back to bring them within two but in the end Surrey proved to be the hungrier and went on to claim a 4-2 victory.
The Blues gunslingers, Fodchuk and Flay, were responsible for the goals with help from Patton and Josephson. Sunshine Coast heads to Surrey on Feb. 20 hopefully to tie the series and bring it back home for a Sunday game at 5:30.
The Blues’ three-week layoff from playing games may have been a contributing factor in their loss, but they have too much depth and determination to allow this to deflate them.
So buckle up and get ready for a wild ride for the rest of this series. #GOBLUES
