The U14 boys Celtics took another step in developing the character that will produce a winner as they travelled to Inter-River Park to play the Capilanos last weekend.

Eli Paradis had one in the net in the first five minutes, but the Capilanos tied it up at 1-1 by halftime.

The local lads saw themselves down 3-1 with 20 minutes to go and Capilanos with a chance from the penalty spot. Goalkeeper Myles Cushieri made a brilliant save and lit a fire. Justice Coady banged in two and the Celtics came home with a 3-3 draw.

It was a game Celtics could have won, but it took Myles' effort to get them to bear down. Myles earned the right to wear the coveted Celtics' jersey this week as Man of the Match and Eli earned the coaches' game award.

The U12 boys Adrenaline showed off their smooth passing game against Point Grey Thunder. It took a minute to settle down, then bang, Jason Talbot and Zach Karmel each had the ball in the back of the net for an Adrenaline 2-0 lead after six minutes. The Thunder came back with a lucky goal on a deflection just before the half. The Coast team continued to carry the play in the second half but couldn't find their scoring boots. Thunder won a corner kick with two minutes to go and scrambled the ball over the line to tie the game.

The ball winners led the way in this game as Brendan Barnum and Derek Brown gave a display on how to tackle. The referee commented that the high level of passing and pace for such a young team impressed him. Here is another team making their mark as they sit only two points from first place. Next game is at Shirley Macey Park tomorrow (Saturday) at 10:45 a.m.

The U15 boys SC United had an off day against West Van Spuraways. Kelly-Patrick Hlatky was able to bulge the twine but that was it for scoring. Stewart Richey chose this game to really stand out at the back, and this enabled United to earn a point in a game that was not up to their usual standard.

The 1-1 draw was the first time United has conceded a point since January - pretty impressive stuff. Next game is at Shirley Macey Park tomorrow (Saturday) at 12:45 p.m.

Sur-Del Storm came to visit last Sunday as they took on the U13 girls' Stingrays. Storm was undefeated and sat at the top of the league. Great goalkeeping by Maya Schutz and a strong game from sweeper Kyra Krohman supported Sydney McAllister's two goals that saw the Storm down 2-1 with time running out.

Good teams find a way to win, and the Stingrays did. With a minute to go, the Stingrays scrambled the ball across the line for a 2-2 draw. This was an outstanding game for the U13 level.

U16 girls' Chaos powered by a West Vancouver team as they continue to establish themselves in their first year.Skyler Sita again played a solid game at the central defence.

Eliz Brown moved into the centre midfield and played well in a new position. The player who really stepped forward was Beth Allnutt. Beth came off the bench to play the right midfield and played her best game ever. She set up two goals to top off a fine effort.

Jasmine DiPietro scored a hat trick. It was understandable. Her dad sent her a game ball from the U.S. - it's pink. The Chaos used it this game, and it's a winner. Rebecca Owen continues to be a menace in the attacking zone as she also scored in the 4-0 win.

The U15 girls' Scorpions went to Richmond and came home with another win under their belts. This time the score was 3-0. No other details of the game were available at press time.
