It was a fine summer day in Roberts Creek at the outdoor courts last week when the Sunshine Coast Basket Club played their final spring tournament and wrapped up a fantastic season. All the various age groups, from grades 3 through 7, boys and girls, played under the hot sun, showing coach Shane Heuring that his message and expertise were well received from all the after-school practices since April.
There were close games in every age group, intense skills demonstrated by all and full court flurries that made the dedicated fans sitting on the grass beside the court sit up, take notice and cheer for more.
If you like basketball or would like to try basketball, look for this club to practice with, either in Gibsons or Sechelt. From what I saw on this sunny day, it’s another great activity for kids to enjoy on the Coast. Email [email protected] for more.
