The Bantam Rep Blues continued to roll right along, picking up a pair of wins to start the second half of their season.

On Saturday, the Blues scored less than two minutes into the game and never looked back in an impressive 7-2 romp over Chilliwack.

Mike Brackett opened the scoring for the Blues that was followed up by a goal from Kyle Horsman. Andrew Marsh, Linden Feniak, Connor Cross and Timo Antilla assisted on the two goals.

Chilliwack answered with two goals, but the Blues kept up the pressure and finished the first period up 3-2 on an unassisted goal by Jack Parker.

The flood gates opened in the second period as the Blues scored four goals. Cody August and Connor added singles, while Reece Nelsen added a pair.

The third period saw no goals, but lots of good physical play. The Blues had to work hard to keep from being goaded into penalties by a frustrated Chilliwack team. Referee Darragh Workman and linesmen Dave Crosby and Bailey Quinn did an admirable job of keeping the game from getting out of control.

On Sunday the Blues travelled to North Vancouver to play the second place team in the tier. Once again the Blues got off to an early start as Andrew scored unassisted on his second shift of the game. Later in the period, Andrew rammed home his second of the game, this time with the assists going to Reece and Mike. Less than a minute later Tyler Starnes converted on a rebound that was set up by a nice play from Jake Stanley and Reece to end the first period 3-0.

There was no scoring in the second period, but in the third, the Blues tallied once again, when Reece converted on a nice slap pass from Timo that saw him kick the puck up to his stick before he buried it into the wide open net, to make the final 4-0 Blues. Scott Legault had a strong game in net on the way to his seventh shutout of the season.

"Once again we played a very effective team game, with 11 players recording points on the weekend," said coach Brent Parker. "Our team defence was very good as we constantly took away the opposition's chances before they could happen."

Next up for the Blues is a trip to Ridge Meadows tomorrow (Saturday) before hosting Coquitlam on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Sunshine Coast Arena in Sechelt.
