A woman was airlifted to Vancouver General Hospital Tuesday night after a single-vehicle accident in Roberts Creek.

Sunshine Coast RCMP and paramedics responded to a report of single-vehicle collision off a Forest Service Road located near Largo Road in Roberts Creek.

“The vehicle had been travelling south on the Forest Service Road and had lost control and gone off road left while travelling down the hill, colliding with a tree. Both airbags were deployed,” said Cpl. Steve Chubey in a news release. “The single occupant sustained chest and hip injuries and was transported by paramedics to Cliff Gilker Park, where she was transported by air ambulance to Vancouver General Hospital. The injuries were not life threatening.”

Chubey said the incident is still under investigation. Speed appears to have been a factor in the crash.
