Four new cases of COVID-19 were reported on the Sunshine Coast between Sept. 5 and 11.

The latest count of new COVID-19 cases on the Sunshine Coast has seen weekly numbers drop from 13 to four. 

For the week of Sept. 5 to 11, four new cases were reported on the Coast. In Powell River, there were five new cases for the same time period, and 29 in the Howe Sound area. Thirty cases in Vancouver Coastal Health had missing address information.

Between Sept. 7 and 13, two new cases were reported on the Coast per a population of 100,000.

As of Sept. 13, vaccine rates continue to increase on the Coast, with 75 per cent of youth aged 12 to 17 having had their first shot and 60 per cent with both doses. For those 18 to 49 years old, 77 per cent had one dose and 65 per cent had two. In the 50-plus age category, 90 per cent of Coast adults had their first jab, and 86 had both.
