Admission to the Sechelt Aquatic Centre will be free on Friday, Nov. 5 from 7 to 9 p.m., for a community appreciation event hosted by the Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD).
The SCRD announced the aquatic centre will fully re-open on Nov. 6., following an earlier-than-anticipated completion of updates to the building’s fire suppression system. The seasonal maintenance closure at the facility was extended on Sept. 15.
“We look forward to welcoming the community back this weekend and to the resumption of scheduled activities at the facility,” Shelley Gagnon, SCRD general manager of community services, said.
