Roberts family explores history

The Roberts family reunion was held Friday, Aug. 6 to Aug. 8.

The Roberts family reunion was held Friday, Aug. 6 to Aug. 8. Of the approximately 50 people at the reunion, a few came to the Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives to view artifacts from their family, share family history and examine the personal diaries of Harry Roberts.

The current Roberts Creek postmaster, Kathy Brown, came to the museum to greet the Roberts relatives. She spoke with them about the three Roberts family members who were postmasters in Roberts Creek and invited them to the centennial anniversary at the Roberts Creek post office.

One of the visitors was Ben Otten, the great-great-grandson of Alice Roberts Steinbrunner. Lawrence Fowler, William Fowler, JoAnn Otten, Edith Godsen and Helen Jones are all Alice Roberts Steinbrunner's grandchildren. Paul Roberts was also there, who is the son of Thomas William Roberts and Clara May Roberts.

During their visit at the museum, the family remembered Herb Steinbrunner and his carvings, along with many other Sunshine Coast memories. The museum staff looks forward to the next reunion and the next share of memories.
