Sunshine Coast RCMP are treating fires that destroyed two vehicles in Gibsons as suspicious.
Staff Sgt. Poppy Hallam said police were called out around 3:50 a.m. Friday to assist Gibsons firefighters who were already on the scene in the 800 block of Bayview Heights Road.
Hallam said the owners of the Ford Explorer and the Pontiac Sunfire that were destroyed reported hearing dogs barking and car alarms before looking outside and noticing one of the vehicles was on fire. The fire quickly spread to the second vehicle.
There were no injuries and the fire was contained to just the two vehicles.
RCMP have been taking statements from neighbours, but Hallam said they’re also hoping to hear from anyone else with information.
