A spellbinding live performance at the shíshálh Nation Longhouse crowned a week of filmmaking for a forthcoming documentary about communities healing through the power of stories.

The public is also invited to help shortlist the images that will adorn Sechelt lamp standards in 2023. The Young Artists Exhibition and The Banner Project remain on display until Dec.16 at the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre.

Amplify Space public art project is coming to Sechelt

The annual Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign in cooperation with the Sunshine Coast Youth Dance Association this month broke all previous sales records in support of community dance.

Intersecting themes of freedom and authority are spliced into intricate paper tapestries in a new exhibition by Istanbul-born artist Damla Tamer in her first solo show on the Sunshine Coast.

The numbers are in for the Sunshine Coast’s 2022 Art Crawl, and organizers are calling this year’s colourful cultural pilgrimage an unqualified success. Combined with 2021 proceeds, a total of $1,030,000 was earned by artists over two years through their participation in the event. 

The Green Forum series sponsored by St. Hilda’s Anglican Church will feature presenter Seth Klein, author of A Good War: Mobilizing Canada for the Climate Emergency, on Nov. 25 at 7 p.m.

World-traveling folk musician Kristina Olsen performs live and via Zoom from the Gibsons and District Public Library at 2 p.m. on Nov. 26.
