Puppeteer Kris Fleerackers refashioned the legend of Snow White in a puppet show at Gibsons Public Art Gallery on Aug.

After a hiatus of more than 15 years, Sunshine Coast politician and publisher Silas White is marking a return to his musical career with the release of an album originally recorded in 2003.

The Rogue Arts Festival is about many things – visual arts, crafts, food, drink, dance, and hanging out with friends old and new. But mostly it’s about music.

The pace has slowed just a little on the arts scene following the August highs of the Festival of the Written Arts and Rogue Arts Festival.

Pender Harbour Chamber Music Festival

One of the premier Sunshine Coast juried showcases for B.C. artisans welcomed throngs of visitors on the Aug. 17 to 18 weekend in Sechelt. Among the more than 80 vendors to display their wares was Tree Spirits, with works by woodcarver Denis Gobeil.

The Sunshine Coast Festival of the Written Arts held an opening reception at the Seaside Centre Aug. 15. Authors and invited guests were welcomed with appetizers and wine, and greeted by MP Pamela Goldsmith-Jones and Sechelt Mayor Darnelda Siegers.
