Drawing artistic inspiration from the natural environment is as ancient and varied a practice as human art itself.

Coast Streaming (an ongoing creative enterprise of Mieke Jay and Steve Wright) is putting out a call for “large-scale painters” in connection to an upcoming project with the Sunshine Coast Arts Council.

Sechelt has added the construction of an outdoor stage at Hackett Park to this year’s work plan after the project was approved for $185,525 from the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.

Death Plays With Fire

The group known as The Landing Artists usually holds a spring exhibition and sale in May at Gibsons Public Market. The pandemic postponed that until now, and six local artists from the group hung the show this week.
