Elphinstone Chronicles: Wrapping up the year

As 2018 draws to a close, I fondly remember two Elphinstone residents who passed away this past year. Many will remember Stan Jones, who worked at a variety of jobs. My husband and I knew him as a good neighbour.

KidSport Sunshine Coast raised $2,900 at its annual Turkey Shoot on Saturday, Dec. 8. The community packed Blackfish Pub where 30 turkeys were raffled and many other raffle prizes drawn.

The Sunshine Coast Natural History Society will be conducting their 40th annual Christmas Bird Count (CBC) on Saturday, Dec. 15, and the 28th Pender Harbour count, organized by Pender Harbour Wildlife Society, is on Wednesday, Dec. 19.

Harbour Highlights: Boat parade this Friday

This Friday, Dec. 14, the 54th Pender Harbour Boat Parade sets sail at 6 p.m. from the government dock at Millennium Park. The beautifully decorated boats will carry carollers and the Pipe Band broadcasting the favourite songs of this festive season.
