In the Community

England’s Lake District inspires our recent visit. From London, a train carries us northward through hillside sheep pastures and rustic villages to Windermere. A morning bus takes us to Grasmere, where two beloved poets lived, mused and wrote.

Staff from the Ministry of Children and Family Development celebrated Youth in Care Week on June 5 with the help of the Sunshine Coast Rotary Club and other community organizations that support children and youth on the Sunshine Coast.

Sunshine Coast Lions Club with corporate sponsor Pet Valu hosted a walk on Sunday, May 26 to raise funds for the Lions Guide Dog Foundation. Several furry participants joined the walk along with their two-legged friends.

On Saturday, June 22, Gibsons Legion is hosting the second annual Show and Shine and Poker Run for Motorcycles. This is also being incorporated with an Open House Community Day and everyone is invited to come by and see the motorcycles.
