Gibsons’ annual Halloween Block Party takes place on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. Last year’s event was the biggest Halloween celebration on the Coast, and this year looks to be even larger.

Rotary Club of Sunshine Coast welcomes Carla Villalobos Treja from Morelos, Mexico, as a youth exchange student. Carla will be hosted by families on the Sunshine Coast for 10 months while she attends Grade 11 at Chatelech Secondary School.

Joselyn Fuste was the winner of the Pie Eating Contest at last weekend’s Thanksgiving Homesteading Fall Fair in Roberts Creek. The 10-year-old finished ahead of seven other contestants, winning a gift certificate from Seaweeds Health Food Store.
