February is Toastmasters Month! Sechelt and Gibsons have proclaimed February as Toastmaster’s Month along with the B.C. Legislature, celebrating the Toastmasters program across the province. Toastmasters has been around for 97 years.

The Elphinstone Community Association (ECA) February Zoom meeting featured Tracy Green, field operations supervisor for the Sunshine Coast for Census 2021, as guest speaker.

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful week and survived our first major snowfall of this winter season. Although snow changed to rain quickly, we did have a day or two bounding around in the backyard playing in the snow.

Grill-it! Evokes a warm wonderful feeling and fuels the appetite! Even better, Grill-it! is the new food truck in Earls Cove. Sharon Rosel during these tough times went with her dream inspired by Martin Luther King Jr.

With Valentine’s Day in the rear view, you can take advantage of chocolates and roses on sale, but keep in mind there are celebrations to be had on a daily basis if you look for them.

Sechelt Rotary Club volunteers have been busy sticking and folding over the past week as they prepare nearly 1,000 handwritten cards for the Sunshine Coast’s health-care workers in time for Valentine’s Day.

Candace Campo and Dale Peterson will join forces on Feb. 28 to present a collaborative virtual historical walking tour on Zoom.

The Sunshine Coast Blues U13 female hockey team have nominated the Sunshine Coast Community Services Society’s Building Together project as the recipients of a $100,000 grant if they win the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup Grant.

The Sunshine Coast Foundation has launched its spring 2021 grants cycle. Registered charities and other “qualified donees” are eligible to apply for up to $7,500 for programs and services serving residents of the lower Sunshine Coast.

The Pender Harbour Community Club, stewards for our beloved Community Hall and hosts to events and markets, are gently reminding members to renew their memberships. New members are warmly welcomed. Cost is $5 for a single person and $10 for a family.
