The coffeehouse tonight, Friday, July 11, 7 p.m. at the Pender Harbour School of Music, welcomes the Sunshine Coast’s legendary duo Reg & Lynne Dickson and also The Empty Streets. Doors open at the School of Music at 7 p.m. Music at 7:30 p.m. $10 suggested donation at the door.
Sarah Wray Hall (4334 Irvines Landing Rd., in Garden Bay) is open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 19 and 26. Check out recent donations, including a six-foot quilt by Madeira Park Elementary School students given to Denise Mackay on her retirement, and a portable organ used on the Columbia Coast Mission ships. You can also buy your Redwood Canoe raffle tickets, and purchase local historic maps, glass fishing floats, cork lines, used books and more. Gunboat Bay Blues on The Water, live music with Peter van Deursen and his band, is just a week away –– Saturday, July 19. Music will begin at approximately 3 p.m. (rain or shine) on the host’s dock on the north shore of Gunboat Bay. All are welcome to join from your own dock or on your boat anchored in the Bay. Royal Canadian Legion Branch #112 will host its annual golf tournament on Saturday, August 16, starting at 2 p.m. The playing format is a modified Texas Scramble. Entry is $75 per person which includes golf, appies, dinner and prizes. Everyone receives a prize! Power carts are not included in the entry fee. Registrations are accepted at the Legion for golf and dinner while power carts must be rented at the golf course.
