Pender Harbour-Egmont Highlights: Easter Tea at the hall coming up

Also, Dukes of Earles celebrate St. Patrick’s Day

This Saturday, March 16, an Easter Tea hosted by the Sunshine Coast Resource Centre and Pender Harbour Community Club will take place at the Hall from 1 to 3 p.m. This is a potluck so please bring something to share. For more info call 236-889-1124 

Celebrate St. Patrick’s day at The Legion with Live Music! Performing on this special occasion will be The Dukes of Earles from 2 to 5 p.m. $10 at the door. Traditional fare, stew will be served noon to 3 p.m. The following weekend will be the extremely popular Easter ham and turkey draw and the pie auction on Saturday, March 23. All proceeds will go to the Generator Fund. 

Matt Byrne a true son of Newfoundland will bring music from his homeland to the stage at the School of Music Sunday, March 24. Tickets are $30 at www.penderharbourmusic.ca. 

The Pender Harbour Garden Club welcomes our local gardening guru Sandy Matches Monday, March 25 at the School of Music from 1 to 3 p.m. Sandy’s presentation will be on “Weeds” March 25. There will be a Q&A session. Membership fees are $20 annual. Drop in $5. 

Pender Harbour Community Club bingo returns Thursday, March 28 at the Hall. Doors open at 5 p.m., early bird begins at 6:30 p.m., main games at 7 p.m. The $1,000 jackpot game can be won in 51 calls. Door prizes, snacks, and drinks. Join the fun and bring a friend! 

Art classes with local artist Kevin Wells: adding texture to your acrylic paintings will be held. Wednesdays, April 3 to 24, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sarah Wray Hall. Details and registration: penderharbourheritage.ca/art-classes-april-2024 

Tickets on sale now for the Pender Harbour Blues Society’s spring dance Saturday, April 6 with “Terminal Station” featuring Scott Smith, Darryl Havers, Jeremy Holmes and Liam MacDonald,  fantastic musicians and great dance music. Driftwood Players will bring the Lizzie Borden story alive performing Blood Relations by Sharon Pollock April 13, 2 p.m. at the Hall. Did she, do it? Tickets at EarthFair store.
