October 15, 1948 - January 20, 2025
Nikki Loraine Schmitt, a strong and loving woman who touched the lives of many, passed away peacefully on the evening of January 20, 2025, at the age of 76.
Born on October 15, 1948, Nikki was the beloved widow of Reverend Frank Schmitt, with whom she shared a life of love, faith, and devotion.
Nikki was the cherished mother of Jessica Brett and Albert Schoemaker and a loving stepmother to Brandi Chytracek and Tami Tran. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren: two from Jessica, three from Brandi, and three from Tami.
She was the sister of four brothers—Vernon, Ayden, Ronald, and David—who knew her as a beacon of strength and grace.
Nikki was beautiful inside and out, embodying kindness, warmth, and an unwavering love for her family and those around her. Her strong spirit, compassionate heart, and steadfast faith inspired everyone who knew her. She carried herself with dignity and always prioritized her loved ones, leaving a legacy of love, resilience, and faith that will endure in the hearts of her family and friends.
She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her memory will live on in the stories, laughter, and love she leaves behind.
A celebration of Nikki's life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 1:00 pm, at Living Faith Lutheran Church in Sechelt, BC. In honour of Nikki's life and values, donations can be made to the ALS Society of BC or Living Faith Lutheran Church.
