Obituary: Liam Gorton Gadsby

'Liam's sense of humour was infectious. When he shared his huge trademark SMILE with his piercing blue eyes with those he cared for, it was his gift to us all. No matter what he was faced with in life, he always managed to find that SMILE, even if it was just to put us at ease.'

January 21, 1985 - March 24, 2024

We are extremely saddened to announce the sudden passing of Liam Gorton Gadsby on March 24, 2024.

Liam was born on January 21, 1985 in Vancouver, BC. His family's lives were enhanced by his unconditional love. He is survived by his mother and father, Catherine and Hugh, sister Caitlin (Steve), nephew Declan and niece Quinn along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Even though Liam's life was cut short, he loved his family and was a loyal friend to many. Liam's curiosity drove him to educate himself on a variety of subjects throughout his life. His interest of fishing, rock climbing and dirt biking always brought him joy.

Liam's sense of humour was infectious. When he shared his huge trademark SMILE with his piercing blue eyes with those he cared for, it was his gift to us all. No matter what he was faced with in life, he always managed to find that SMILE, even if it was just to put us at ease.

Liam overcame many challenging obstacles throughout his life. His battle with addiction was an extremely difficult one and although he made valiant efforts to fight it, he is now free from the shackles of addiction and is finally at peace.

There will be a celebration of Liam's life on Saturday, April 20th at the Sunshine Coast Botanical Gardens from 12-2pm at 5941 Mason Road, Sechelt, BC.

Memorial donations may be made in Liam's memory to Miklat Recovery Society in Powell River, BC.
