It is with profound sadness that our family announces the unexpected passing of Jack Malnarich at the age of 80. He leaves behind a legacy of love, caring kindness, and cherished memories that will forever be treasured for all who knew and loved him.

Jack was predeceased by his parents Albert and Aili, and sisters Bonnie and Sylvia. He is survived by his wife Judy, daughter Jolene, son Jarrett, daughter-in-law Tina, grandchildren Jack and Josie and many friends, neighbors and relatives.

Jack was born in Trail BC, and grew up in Rossland until he graduated from high school in 1962. He attended the University of British Columbia and obtained his DMD degree in 1969, from the Faculty of Dentistry. He was an honor student, excelled in chemistry, and loved the university life. He went back to UBC for a short time, to teach students.

In 1968, he met and married his wife Judy Fraser and together they raised their two children. They lived and practiced dentistry in North Vancouver for over 40 years.

In the early 2000’s, Jack relocated to a dental practice in Sechelt, BC. After a few years he retired to a life of enjoyment on the Sunshine Coast. Jack was a talented dentist; he had a generous gentle spirit and was a great family man. He loved the outdoors, was an animal lover and a voracious reader. He hiked trails in the Sechelt community, ran marathons in the US and Canada, enjoyed the game of golf, skied most mountains in the province, boated and fished on the “Jolly J”, and kayaked many areas of our ocean.

The family wishes to thank all, for their support and love at this sad time. Condolences may be sent to: www.devlinfuneralhome.ca

Donations to the SPCA greatly appreciated.

A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at 1pm on Friday, April 12, 2024 at the Sunshine Coast Botanical Gardens, 5941 Mason Road, Sechelt, BC.

He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
