November 22, 1940 – January 18, 2023

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Lealda on January 18th at Shorncliffe in Sechelt, BC. She was surrounded by the love of her family in her final days. Predeceased by her parents, Harold and Agnes (aka Lovsie) Mutch and brother Ronald. She is survived by daughter Nora (David), granddaughter Rebecca (Tony), grandson Michael, son Stuart (Mara), granddaughter Jasmine, grandson Adin and great-granddaughter Esme, brothers Bryan and David Mutch.

Lealda was born and raised in Vancouver and lived many years in Richmond raising her children then moved to Roberts Creek in 2007. Mom loved to paint and crochet, she was very talented and would spend hours creating many special keepsakes that we will always treasure. She loved to walk her little dog Benjamin in Roberts Creek and Porpoise Bay. She spent countless hours in the garden puttering around and enjoying a hot cup of tea. In her later years, she took up kayaking and enjoyed paddling on Trout Lake and ocean excursions with little Benjamin by her side.

A huge thank you to Dr. Kevin Koopman and Dr. Sara Wadge for their superb care. Thank you to Laura at Nurse Next Door, Mom enjoyed her spa day visits. A special thank you to the staff at Shorncliffe Hospice, even though Mom was not there very long, nurses Marie and Lynn took excellent care and showed great compassion in her last days. And lastly, a very heartfelt thank you to Dr. Carmen Goojha and nurse Susan who helped Mom soar with the birds over the rainbow.

You were so very strong and fought right to the end Mom. We are so proud to have known and loved you. We will miss you tremendously and forever.
