It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty on January 21, 2024.

Betty was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Betty was one of the last of the older generation that knew what the word “community” meant. She volunteered tirelessly for the Egmont Community Club, the Lions Club and the Egmont Museum. She did all of that while raising her family and working at her job that she loved as the Post Master of Egmont. When Betty was forced to take her annual holidays, she and her beloved husband Leonard would “cast off at first light” for the commercial salmon fishing grounds up north.

Betty is survived by her husband, Leonard; Colleen, Jessica, Joseph, Tom and Russell; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

There will be a Celebration of Life (potluck) for Betty at the Egmont Community Hall on Saturday, February 24 at 4pm.
