Obituary: Norma J. Mitravitz

'Our mom had many passions in life - the love for all animals and birds, gardening, painting, drawing, wood working, sewing her kids clothes in the middle of the night, piano and wrapping her loved ones up (sometimes only with words due to distance) in a warm fluffy blanket when sick or feeling down.'

Norma Jean Mitravitz (nee Smith), born May 13th, 1943 in Vancouver BC, and passed away on January 10th, 2024 in Sechelt, BC at the age of 80. Norma had also been battling a lengthy lung disease. Norma and Ted would have been married for 49 years this February 28th.

Our mom had many passions in life - the love for all animals and birds, gardening, painting, drawing, wood working, sewing her kids clothes in the middle of the night, piano and wrapping her loved ones up (sometimes only with words due to distance) in a warm fluffy blanket when sick or feeling down.

To be forever missed and loved by her husband, Peter Theodore (Ted) Mitravitz, three children, Rebecca (partner Todd), Paul and Laura, three grandchildren, Adam, Nathan and Isabella, many nieces and nephews, extended family, along with all the friends Mom had gained throughout her life. And of course, the two new family cats, Corg and Dusty.

She was preceded in life by her parents, Norman and Ruth Smith, one sister Wanda and one brother Phil.

A Celebration of Life to follow in the spring, her favourite time of year, at St. Hilda's Church.

In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to the SPCA.

She will always be our guiding light, bringing us home.

We love and miss you always.

XOXO - All of us.
