March 12, 1943 - March 15, 2025
Ann Waldo, a vibrant spirit who lived life to its fullest, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Scotland on March 12, 1943, she had just celebrated her 82nd birthday days before her departure.
In 1964, Ann embarked on a life-changing journey, immigrating to Canada with her mother, Mary Turnbull, carrying dreams of a new beginning. It was here that she found her first great love, George Waldo, whom she married in 1965. Their 53-year marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership until George's passing in 2018.
Life had more adventures in store for Ann. She was blessed to find love again with Kelly Kyle, and together they spent five remarkable years traveling the world, checking off items from her bucket list, and creating memories that brought joy to her final chapter.
Ann's legacy lives on through her children: Penny (Tim), Paulusi (Stacey), and John (Mike), who inherited her adventurous spirit and strength of character. She took immense pride in her role as grandmother to Alasuak, Greyson, Iluak, Montgomery, and Alexander, and greatgrandmother to Lexi Kay. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Elisabeth Cattanach (January 20, 2012), with whom she shared not just a birthday but a special bond that only twins can understand.
Ann's life was marked by courage, resilience, and an ability to find love and joy in life's journey. Her Scottish heritage remained close to her heart, even as she built a beautiful life in Canada. She showed us that it's never too late to embrace new adventures or open your heart to love.
Those who knew Ann will remember her unwavering strength of character, her zest for life, and her capacity to love deeply and without reservation. Her story reminds us that life's greatest chapters can unfold at any age.
A celebration of Ann's life will be held at the Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club in Roberts Creek on Saturday, May 10, 2025. The Celebration will start at 3pm with dinner at 4pm. Please RSVP: [email protected]
