Kisses and Kicks: June 20 edition

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!
Kisses & Kicks
Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kisses and kicks for the week of June 20!

  • Many, many kisses to Julie and Laurell who picked me up, dusted me off and ministered to my badly bruised dignity after my fall at the Mobil gas station. You are angels. Thank you.
  • Hearty thanks to Best Buy for their wonderful inventory, exceptional service, and for always helping with cell phone needs.
  • Big kisses to the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary! Your time, donations, and support made our first Bistro Store a huge success — our residents felt like they were truly out shopping!
  • Kicks: This is becoming an annual letter. Dear neighbours in HMB: if you are going to feed crows people food, please supply them with a water dish in your yard. This week in my bird bath: a burrito, peanut shells, one young robin carcass (I can accept that one, it’s nature).
  • Kisses to the amazingly patient Pauline and Nicole from Tom Harris Telus store who worked tirelessly with two extremely technologically challenged customers. You set up our new phone with a smile and sent us on our satisfied way. Thanks a million
  • Kisses to the kind person who found my hat and turned it in to Sunnycrest Mall. It is a fine hat I bought in Australia and appreciate its return!
  • Kicks to the fast-food restaurant in Sechelt that scheduled noisy, disruptive interior renovations during a busy lunch hour. And, while I’m at it, when people are finished eating, could you please push your chairs back in. It’s the polite thing to do.
  • Kisses to a saviour at the ferry terminal June 11. Ferry is in, go to start my car and it’s dead. A fellow traveler jumped out of his car with cables and a power bank and got me going! You are my hero, thank you!
  • Kisses to the gentleman who assisted my husband after a fall in lower Gibsons June 8. He kindly helped him up and provided water and band aids. You are appreciated.
  • Kisses to Gibsons Lions for the great BBQ they gave for the Sunshine Coast Hospital Auxiliary. The volunteers enjoyed every delicious bite.
  • A shout out and doggy kisses to Animal Bylaw Officer, Doug Bakker for his conscientious and competent tracking down of a vicious dog (and owner) who attacked our Aussie Lucas last Monday.
  • Tail wagging butt thanks and puppy kisses from Lucas to the wonderful team led by Dr. Spence at Sechelt Animal Hospital for stitching me back together after a vicious dog attack –– you are the best!
  • Kisses to Fran, who at the Gibsons Flea Market, gifted me an absolutely beautiful urn to replace the $500 cardboard tube that the funeral home sold me to hold my sons’ ashes.
