Robbie Burns Night is this Friday, Jan. 20 at the Pender Harbour Legion.  If any tickets are still available, they will be at the Legion. Next event is the Super Bowl Party Feb. 5.

This Saturday, Jan. 21, Flair in Pender Harbour will get together from 10 a.m. to noon at the Activity Centre in Lily Lake Village, 12710 Lagoon Road. The guest speaker, Barbara McAllister a registered nurse, (reiki master/teacher, reflexology, sound healing), will talk on energy medicine.

McAllister uses learned healing techniques from sound with the aid of tuning forks and Tibetan bowls, integrating the two worlds of eastern and western medicine. Included in her presentation is an amazing video on auras.

Tuesday Jan. 24 Pender Harbour Women’s Connection presents its first Gathering of 2017 at 10 a.m. at the PH School of Music. All women are invited to join them for friendship, fun and sharing of mutual interests. Janet McIntosh and her husband Steve travelled to Scotland last September researching Janet’s family roots and exploring the stunning Scottish countryside. You will want to book a trip!

Janet will talk about online ancestry research and information gleaned without leaving your computer and then how rewarding it is to meet people and places in person.

Seniors Initiative has these activities this coming week starting with walking group exercises on Tuesday. Wednesday come carpet bowling 1 to 3 p.m. Harbourside Friendship gets together Thursday . Bring your books to read or exchange at the book exchange staring at 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon. Friday chair yoga will be 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. All activities are at the Hall.

Intergenerational activities with high school students this week: Monday learn about Facebook and Thursday will be the wrap up for both Facebook and documenting stories sessions, 11:28 a.m. to 12:28 p.m. at the secondary school for both days.

The Harbour Learning Centre is open four days a week, Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Open Door Group now offers outreach employment services from the Harbour Learning Centre on the third Thursday of each month from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Drop by anytime to check out the job board, or set up an appointment by calling 604-885-3351.
