This Sunday, Aug. 7, come out to the Rotary Club of Pender Harbour Annual Show ‘n’ Shine and Rod Run. Find a spot to set up your lawn chair along the route and get ready to enjoy the Rod Run.
The parade of dazzling autos will arrive from Sechelt at Highway 101 and Francis Peninsula Road at approximately 10 a.m. They’ll roar on down to Lagoon Road, then Madeira Park Road and on to the final destination at the Royal Canadian Legion.
The Show ‘n’ Shine opens at noon beside the Legion. Along with the beautiful cars there will be music, food, free hot dogs for the kids and a vendors’ village. Check out penderharbour.ca in advance for maps and all the details.
The Legion requests the person/persons who took the wheelchair from the Legion please return it, and to the kids who tried to destroy their sign, this is not community spirit.
Harbourside Friend-ship on Thursday, Aug. 11 welcomes guest speaker Caron Hawrychuk exploring what the interests are for upcoming workshops. Bring your ideas to the Hall at 10:30 a.m. and enjoy lunch for $10 served at noon.
The next Music Society’s School of Music Coffee House will be on Friday, Aug. 12. This show features two very accomplished groups, Blue Line Trio with Dr. Fun and Robin Atchison, and the Nelson Giles Duo, each playing half the show. They will offer a variety of blues, country, jazz, folk and rock, originals and oldies. Doors open at 7 p.m. for coffee and dessert, and the music starts at 7:30.
