The Pender Harbour Community Club will be selling tickets every Friday throughout July outside the IGA for their great raffle. First prize is $200, second a garden ornament valued at $150 and third prize a garden ornament value $100. Draw date is July 26.

The annual Egmont seafood dinner is this Saturday, July 5 at the Egmont Community Hall. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person for the delicious feast.

The award winning girl’s high school choir from Kenya, just coming off a great performance at the International Kathaumixw Festival in Powell River, will be on stage dancing and singing this Sunday, July 6 at 2 p.m. at the School of Music.

The Pender Harbour Choir is hosting this event, a fundraiser for both choirs. Tickets are $15 available at Earthfair Store, Visitor Information Sechelt and Laedeli in Gibsons. Half price tickets for students and children can be reserve red by calling Joanne at 604-883-9749.

Harbourside Friendships and P.H. Seniors Initiative’s summer program for July begins with a slo-cat tour for $20 leaving at 5 p.m. from the Garden Bay Pub on July 10. A dinner option follows. For information call Cathy at 604-883-9760 or Marlene at 604-883-9900.

An afternoon event for the whole family will take place next Sunday, July 13 starting at 2 p.m. — A Smile on the Sea; Boat Songs and Stories of Two Oceans performed by Dan Rubin at the School of Music.

Rubin has performed across North America and internationally and has released seven albums of original music. He comes to Pender Harbour to offer the PH Heritage Society benefit concert prior to performing at the Vancouver Folk Festival. Tickets are $20 for adults $10 for ages 12 and under available at John Henry’s, Earthfair Store, and Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives in Gibsons.
