Harbour-Egmont highlights: Them Ordinary Things at the Coffee House

Yoga is back! Kristin Tracey will be teaching Hatha Yoga on the following Fridays: Feb. 3, 10, 17 and 24 at 9:15 a.m. and chair yoga classes, same dates at 11 a.m. Maureen Clifford will teach chair yoga  Mondays 11 a.m. to noon. Other Seniors Initiative activities for February include carpet bowling Wednesdays 1 to 3 p.m. Drop in $3. Harbourside Friendships Thursday, Feb. 9 welcomes the very entertaining Eddy Edrick. Social starts at 10:30 a.m. and continues to 1 p.m. with lunch served at noon, $10 per person at the Hall. 

Pender Harbour and Egmont folks you may want to plan a road trip to join BC Seniors Advocate Isobel Mackenzie, in cooperation with the Sunshine Coast Resource Centre, for a Town Hall Meeting. Monday, Feb. 6 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Seaside Centre (5790 Teredo Street, Sechelt). Ms. Mackenzie wants to hear from seniors, their loved ones and others who live on the Sunshine Coast. You are invited to share what is working and not working for seniors in your community. Mackenzie will also discuss the role of the Office of the Seniors Advocate, outline concerns she hears from seniors throughout B.C., current and recent studies of seniors’ issues undertaken by the office, and other matters of interest. The School of Music Coffee House, Friday, Feb. 10 will be a fantastic evening of exceptional entertainment from the Coast’s own musicians. Taking to the stage, Them Ordinary Things with Simon Paradis, Kaia Nielsen, Mark Lebell and Paul Dwyer, and Robin Atchison singer, songwriter, guitarist. Doors open at 7 p.m. Music at 7:30 p.m. $10 suggested donation at the door. 

In 2023, Women’s Connection is celebrating its 24th anniversary by holding a Valentine Party. Please join the group at their Feb. 14 get-together for chat, games with prizes and special refreshments. Drop-in fee $4. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. at the School of Music.

Do you need help with your income tax preparation? A Volunteer Income Tax Program will be available March 1 to April 30 in Pender Harbour. This is a free service for eligible clients.
