Harbour / Egmont Highlights: Fabulous live music this week

The Harbour will be full of fabulous live music throughout the weekend and during the week. 

Tonight, at the School of Music Coffee House, come out and enjoy three fantastic coastal performances: Bonar Harris, The Vallees and Hot Java. Doors open at 7 p.m. Music at 7:30 p.m. Suggested donation at the door $10. 

Tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 12, FLAIR on the Coast will hold their meeting 10 a.m. to noon at the Rockwood Centre in Sechelt. Fiona Mitchell from BC Cancer, Radiation Therapy Provincial Practice and Academic Leader, will be the speaker. FLAIR welcomes those receiving cancer treatment, have been through it or a caregiver in the Pender Harbour/Egmont area to join them. Sunday, Nov. 13, The Pender Harbour Music Society presents Dawn Pemberton, 2 p.m. at the School of Music. Her powerful, beautifully articulated voice and engaging stage presence will take the audience on a musical journey through, gospel, soul, jazz, and funk. Tickets $30 at Harbour Insurance, Strait Music and online at the Pender Harbour Music Society website. 

Provisions Bistro at the Pender Harbour Golf Club has three musical events each Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Check out their website or Pender Harbour Blues Society Facebook page for the lineup of performers. 

Nov. 15, Pender Harbour Wildlife Society presents Dr. Sue Grayston professor of soil microecology at UBC and a resident of Earl’s Cove via Zoom at 7 p.m. Dr. Grayston will describe the often-unseen forest biodiversity that exists below the ground. In the last two decades, new techniques have provided unprecedented insights into the incredible diversity, organization and functioning of the below ground diversity. H.U.G.S, the much loved, delightful ukulele group of talented local folks led by the wonderful Helga Grout, will take the stage Thursday, Nov. 17 at Harbourside Friendships. Join the social at 10:30 a.m. at the PH Community Hall. Lunch is served at noon for $10 per person.
