Hi everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful week as spring break comes to an end. Although the weather hasn’t been the best for outdoor activities, hopefully families have made the best of this much needed time to relax and share some time together.
The Sargeant Bay Society will once again be volunteering to assist with planting native plants around the perimeter of two new wetlands being developed in the West Sechelt Burn footprint. Recently, Dave and Michelle from the Sunshine Coast Wildlife Project have excavated the two new wetland sites which are now ready for planting. Volunteer work parties will meet on Saturday, March 26 and Sunday, March 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For all of the details and if you would like to volunteer, please send an email to [email protected]. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
The Halfmoon Bay Community Association’s (HBCA) fundraiser “Auction at the Bay” continues until 4 p.m., Sunday, March 27, with new items being added daily. Earlier this week, there were more than 134 items to bid on with a wide selection of amazing offerings! Go to 32auctions.com/AuctionAtTheBay. There is something for everyone.
At the end of the auction, winning bidders will be notified by email of the items they have purchased and the amounts owing. Within two days, all winning bidders will be contacted by a HBCA representative to confirm payment and arrange for pickup/delivery. Please supply a phone number when you register to bid.
Proceeds of the auction will benefit the Sunshine Coast Community Services Society’s Building Together project. The higher the winning bids are, the larger the donation will be. Whether or not you are a successful bidder, please consider donating to the project directly at buildingtogether-sccss.ca/donate. You can help make their dream a reality!
Proceeds will also benefit causes that are important to residents in Halfmoon Bay through the HBCA Community Initiatives Program. If you have any questions or would like more information, please visit HBCA’s website at halfmoon-bay.ca or send an email to [email protected]. Thank-you to all the organizers, individuals and businesses that donated items and to all the enthusiastic bidders!
If you have any ideas for column content or have a community event or story you would like to share, please send ideas and suggestions to [email protected].
Be safe, be gentle, and always be kind.
