Join everyone this Friday, Oct. 23, for dinner and live music at the Little Legion. Featured will be Bonar Harris. Dinner is 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. with music from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Oct. 24, put on your gumboots and stomp to Jack & G at the Legion. This is a rock’n dance evening you won’t want to miss.

And at the Hall on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 8 p.m. is Boolesque, with the Velvet Rouge-Lettes unleashing their inner divas with choreographed numbers, fun costumes and sizzling solos.

Please mark Oct. 24 on your calendar to attend a small event where fun and discussion will be had centering on wider protection of the Elphinstone forests. Location: 1551 Lockyer Rd. in Roberts Creek, starting at 6 p.m., with a feast at 7 p.m. Please bring food to share, savoury or sweet. Four short films will be shown with inspiring conversation to follow. Proceeds from a cash bar go to ELF. Email [email protected] if you can come.

Two great opportunities are presented by the Live and Learn folks this weekend. On Saturday, Oct. 24, Intro to Home Brewing will be held at 4663 Westly Road, Davis Bay at noon, with presenter Bryce Rudland. Class fee is $10. On Sunday, Oct. 25, is Mushrooms Among Us at Sechelt Arts Centre, 5714 Medusa St. in Sechelt at 7 p.m. with naturalist Rick O’Neill. Door fee is $20 per person. On Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Roberts Creek Hall, the Roberts Creek Community Association will be hosting a pumpkin carving potluck for everyone at their general meeting. Bring your own pumpkin, carving tools and an appetizer or treat to share, and come join in the Halloween fun from 7 to 9 p.m.

The Roberts Creek Community Association presents “EEK the Creek!” and the Roberts Creek’s first International Zombie Walk. The Salvation Army is again planning to hold their 25th community Christmas dinner. We need many hands to help. The dinner is Dec. 16 and we need help with prep on Dec. 15. If you are available, please call The Salvation Army Thrift Store at 604-885-7603 to volunteer. Thank you.
