Gibsons to host annual fundraiser

On Sunday, Sept. 15 starting at 8 a.m. the early birds will be off and running to honour Terry Fox in the annual fundraising for cancer research event.

On Sunday, Sept. 15 starting at 8 a.m. the early birds will be off and running to honour Terry Fox in the annual fundraising for cancer research event.

The Gibsons and Area Community Centre is the starting point for the one, three, five or 10 km routes that are chosen for safety so friends, family, pets and others can walk, run, board, blade, ride or do the Terry Fox 'trot' and enjoy a beautiful Sunday pre-fall morning.

Registration will from 8 to 9:30 a.m. when the bulk of the participants will join in to honour one of Canada's important heroes.

Fox's determination and hope inspires us to be part of the event and funds raised go toward research in overcoming cancer, which affects us all.

Join Jacquie Allen for a pre-run warm-up and there will be donated watermelon as refreshment.

Thanks to all who give to this cause in any way.
