The Sunshine Coast chapter of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada presents Simon Fraser University physics professor Dr. Levon Pogosian at its next meeting on May 8 at the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre in Sechelt.
Pogosian’s topic will be: From Static to Expanding to Accelerating: the past 100 years and the next 20. The meeting gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
The lecture will review the history leading to the astounding discovery of cosmic acceleration in 1998 and the challenges that cosmologists are addressing today.
