The Sunshine Coast Salmon Enhancement Society will host its 18th annual Catch a Trout day at Chapman Creek Hatchery on Saturday, July 6, for kids of all ages.

The annual event, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., is a summer favourite of families on the Sunshine Coast featuring fishing for rainbow trout for the youngsters, with assistance from hatchery volunteers. When they're not catching a fish, kids can get their faces painted, enjoy a hot dog and a drink or show off their karaoke skills, all for the single entry fee of $10. And, of course, there will be balloons!

There will also be a drop-off bin on site for those wishing to donate non-perishable food items to the Food Bank. Don't forget your camera!
