The Eleven Equal Artists have begun off-Coast marketing efforts for their second annual Power of Paint destination art exhibition Aug. 16 to 18 at the Seaside Centre in Sechelt.

This captivating event showcases new works by artists Morley Baker, Greta Grunow Guzek, Josefa Fritz Barham, Todd Clark, Carol LaFave, Kim LaFave, Cindy Riach, Ian MacLeod, Nadina Tandy, Marleen Vermeulen and Elizabeth Evans.

The artists and Power of Paint event coordinators and promoters, Charlene SanJenko and Janice Rafael, have introduced a focused, collaborative off-Coast marketing campaign featuring radio, print and online advertising. The campaign kicks off this Saturday, June 15, during the Gibsons Jazz Festival when Gibsons will be featured in an hour-long travel show, Great Getaways With Cheryl, which airs Saturday evening at 6 p.m. on CKNW 980 AM. The show will be taped on location in Gibsons Landing and offers the artists, local businesses and community leaders an opportunity to discuss not only the plethora of upcoming festivals, including Power of Paint, but also the incredible community assets enjoyed here on the Sunshine Coast. The show boasts more than 8,000 listeners per minute, who will soon be hearing the message of enjoying the lifestyle of live, work and play on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. Artists will be on-site at VIBE from noon to 5 p.m. and are available to chat about their work and their upcoming show.

The marketing campaign continues with a targeted print advertising campaign in various specific Lower Mainland communities and integrated social media utilizing Twitter and Facebook.

"After the success of last year's inaugural event, I am delighted to see that the Power of Paint will be returning to Sechelt in 2013. The exhibition is an exciting celebration of the visual arts, inspiring residents and visitors alike," said District of Sechelt arts coordinator Siobhan Smith.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available. If you would like to be involved in supporting this progressive cultural event and accompanying off-Coast marketing campaign, please email [email protected].
