Gibsons Gracie Jiu Jitsu just celebrated 15 years of teaching on the Sunshine Coast.

As part of their fundraising efforts to provide (volunteer) service to 600 square km of local marine environment, Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Station 14 (Gibsons) held a raffle for a $1,000 BC Ferries experience card over the weekend.

The Drop Dead Gorgeous Pole Walkers celebrated their 15th anniversary this year. During 2023 they collected just over $1,000 in toonies.

Many readers of this newspaper may well remember Jared Wannamaker as the ever smiling, always helpful and congenial manager of the Gibsons SuperValu. In the early hours of Aug. 7, 2021, Jared passed away suddenly in his home in Roberts Creek.
