The Sunshine Coast Fruit Tree Project is a community-based initiative that works to build community and strengthen food security using local fruit.

With three years and more than 50 performances behind them, this month, the B:C:Clettes (pronounced like the French biciclettes) are cycling 250 km in nine days on Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast.

It was a full house for the Saturday afternoon, June 13 screening of Squamish Nations: Stories from the Heart - a collaborative film project that documents the history of the Squamish Nation from the perspective of Tsawaysia Spukwus.

Members of the Sunshine Coast Grandmothers & GrandOthers joined others from southwestern B.C. at a rally in Vancouver on Sunday, June 14 in solidarity with African grandmothers who are raising a generation of children orphaned by AIDS.

Children are invited to 'follow the reader' this summer at the Gibsons and District Public Library. Children aged five to 12 can participate in this free program by signing up for the summer reading club July 9 to Aug. 14.
