Halfmoon Bay Elementary would like your help to create The Great Halfmoon Bay Pumpkin Trail.

Two fire departments in the Pender Harbour area were honoured with lifetime achievement awards for their volunteer contributions to the community.

On Wednesday, Oct. 3, postal workers of the Madeira Park post office surprised members of Pender Harbour Fire Hall 1 with a thank you plaque from Canada Post on behalf of the community and visitors.

The 10th annual Pender Harbour Blues Society Halloween Howl Dance Party and Costume Extravaganza is an event you don't want to miss this Saturday, Oct. 27. Doors open at 8 p.m. at the PH Community Hall. Tickets available at www.phblues.

I recently visited Irene and Clint Davy in their home, which is also the Gibsons Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. This remarkable couple have done their important work for 30 years in our community from the busy centre on Carmen Road.

The fall weather has been wonderful with two weeks of sunshine and gorgeous Sunshine Coast sunsets.

It all started when Matthew Lovegrove, manager of the Sunshine Coast Museum & Archives, contributed an article to a local paper about the “haunted dolls” of the museum’s collection.

Coasting Along Theatre Society

The Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) recognized Foster Family Month with a catered dinner and special recognition gifts in Sechelt on Oct. 11.

The community is invited to One Straw Society’s Annual Fall Faire on Friday, Oct. 26 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Creek Community Hall, followed by the Annual General Meeting from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m.
