Some years ago, Denis Rogers and I were in the city of Khujand in Tajikistan doing some volunteer medical work.

It’s November already and the 49th annual Roberts Creek Christmas Craft Fair is set to go on Friday, Nov. 23 through Sunday, Nov. 25 at Roberts Creek Community Hall and the Masonic Hall next door.

What a Howl! Thanks to Marilyn and the Pender Harbour Blues Society for a fantastic Halloween Howl Dance and Costume Extravaganza at the PH Community Hall last Saturday. The music was over the top and costumes outstanding.

Operation Christmas Child

On a chilly dawn, we’re outside a restored convent, where we’d been staying. Flagging a taxi to the bus station, at this early hour, heading south to Acapulco, we’re picked up by a small yellow VW beetle.

A local disabled veteran was given the opportunity to participate in training session with the only Canadian Armed Forces Mounted Troop. Francine Caravan served in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and was severely injured during tactical manoeuvres.
