The St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program is actively looking for people who’d like visits from the program's volunteer dogs (and their human handlers) who visit people who are feeling lonely, dealing with illness, looking for more support, or who just need a little boost of love and companionship.

The Sunshine Coast Labour Council hosted its annual Labour Day Picnic at Dougall Park in Gibsons Sept. 5. The festivities included free hot dogs, kids crafts, kids games, face painting, community booths, music, speeches and more. hiwus (Calvin Craigan) opened the event at noon on the main stage and speeches and music followed.
