Days of Augusta and shíshálh photography remain on display until October 7

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!

Four awards were presented at a Sept. 9 reception

The Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) emergency operations centre expanded the evacuation order zone for the Clowhom Lake fire Sunday to encompass 10 properties.

Reggie Rabbit and the Search for the Golden Carrot features a white-furred adventurer played by puppeteer Kris Fleerackers. Fleerackers (who operates and voices the eponymous rabbit) performs alongside actor and theatre instructor Shannon Rody. The two head up the all-Sunshine Coast production which is spearheaded by series creator William Baker. 

The annual Union of BC Municipalities conference runs Sept. 18-22 in Vancouver.

Also, as autumn beckons, a dozen Sunshine Coast choirs are starting rehearsals and preparing for concerts in late fall or winter. Coast Reporter has prepared an encyclopedic listing of these euphonious ensembles.

Cost escalations have meant the Trail Bay Seawalk Improvement Project has been rejigged a couple of times, including removal of mobile vendor pads.

Neal Burton Wang faces discipline from the Law Society of BC after being caught moving millions of dollars through his trust account, to a company in Dubai, according to a tribunal ruling.

On Oct. 3 Sunshine Coast photographer, Mario Traina, will be speaking to the Sunshine Coast Camera Club about infrared photography: 'While I use traditional composition, lighting and post production software, infrared photography creates another version of reality for the viewer to experience. The medium is perfect to capture the natural beauty of the Sunshine Coast.'
