Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of June 2!
- Thanks to Alan for filling in the pot holes in front of the mail boxes and Coast Reporter box on Marine Drive in Grantham’s near Soames Creek. Without heavy equipment and flag people, Alan spotted a pile of gravel near the pot holes and using his wheel barrow and shovel, single-handedly made the stop a little smoother.
- Hugs to everyone who rushed to my assistance when I took my wheelchair on a trial visit into Sechelt: many wonderful people but specifically the lady in the scooter and the lady on the bicycle who managed to get me unstuck. Also the lady with the beautiful smile who redirected traffic and walked beside me until I was safely in Home Hardware.
- Plumes of kisses to those pointing fingers at Devlin’s. I’m heartened knowing that you never exhale carbon dioxide, let alone emit an occasional methane burst; you never ever make use of internal combustion engines or burn organics on your barbecue grills. Good on you for seeing the big picture!
- Big kicks to people who don’t keep their cats in their own yard in West Sechelt. The cats are digging up vegetables and flowers.
- Huge kisses to e.b.’s Ice Cream kiosk. They left their venue at Trail Bay Pier to provide and serve free ice cream to the 400 girls and dads at the Rotary Dad and Me Dance. A fine example of giving back to the community!
- Kisses to Cathy and Nicole of London Drugs for their Sunshine Coast delivery on behalf of a transportation-challenged soul! Your kindness and warmth were much appreciated!
- I heartily support and second the person “kicking” the people leaving their trash cans in any bike lanes. And to the truck drivers who leave the cans in the bike lanes after emptying them. Also to people parking in these bike lanes. These were built for emergency use or bicycles, not for parking.
- A whale-full of kisses to all the humpbacks that have returned to our local waters during their migration north. Welcome back! We all absolutely love you.
- Kicks to the person who vandalized my vehicle at the Langdale ferry terminal parking lot while it was parked there between Tuesday, May 16 and Friday May 19. Someone drilled a hole in the gas tank and stole the gas.
